Proceeds to support the Rundle Park Paddling Center and future Edmonton Paddling Centers

EWP is a member of the Rundle Park Paddling Centre and we encourage our members to participate in this fund raising effort.

On Nov 25th and 26th, ACPA will run a basic Canoe Polo referee course in conjunction with the EWP Provincial Recreational Tournament at Kinsmen Aquatic Centre in Edmonton.

The course will start on Friday night for the theory portion and continue on Saturday with the opportunity to referree many games during the day and culminating with a written test.

The practical portion will include refereeing games with a mentor, and some games as a second ref while being observed by the course conductors.

The cost is $ 30 and will lead to the ACPA Club Ref certification upon successful completion

My slalom boat was stolen last night from outside my apartment in Calgary.

It's a Vajda Kapsl MS kayak, royal blue and carbon with white pin-striping. New last year.
It's the only such boat in the country.

If anyone sees it or hears of it for sale, please contact me.

Also the pool sessions are starting early on Thursday Oct 6 at 8:30pm to allow our national team members the time to train for the upcoming Continental Cup in Colombia.

All members can paddle in the water behind the pitch area and are invited to come.

EWP had 2 teams competing in the USA 2011 Nationals, one in the Division A - The Black Mamba, and one in the Division B - The Crunch.

After a long and uneventful road trip, it takes about 26 hours to drive down to Omaha Nebraska from Edmonton, both teams were ready to take on the US competition.

The Crunch played first on Friday afternoon and won all of their games, then The Black Mamba took to the water and asserted their supremacy over all comers.

By the end of the weekend, both EWP teams were undefeated and finished first in their respective classes.

This case is now closed for the club, all 4 stolen boats have been returned to the club.

Big thanks to the Edmonton Police Service for their help securing the boats and our money, and especially big thanks to the Janigo's who have physically taken possesion of the boats on behalf of the club.

Good news everyone, the 3 polo boats which were stolen last year from the boat trailer have been located and returned.

Carol and Rick Janigo found one of the boats advertised on Kijiji and acted promptly to inform the police and also deduced the actual location of the boats using Google Street view and the postal code stated in the ad.

They went to the residence in question and actually bought the 3 boats for cash, but then got their cash back with the help of the Edmonton Police.
