Adult Introductory Kayaking You have the opportunity to learn skills that are the stairway to many unique outdoor experiences involving rivers, lakes or the sea.
Start this outdoor activity in a pool or pond and build on it for continued enjoyment all of your active life . It requires good health since it can be a vigorous activity, and you should enjoy water including immersion.
Whether your goal is to get into whitewater, cruise on a river or the sea; the basic strokes and self rescue techniques are a common entity
and we introduce you to them.

Youth Introductory Kayaking Getting kids 8 to 14 years into kayaking. Cost $69, 4 weeks (8hrs) 8 pm - 10 pm at Kinsmen.
Good start for kids looking to participate in the 2010 Alberta Summer Games
Offered in 4 session blocks, after the first block, subsequent blocks are $ 49 to continue.

How to Roll a Kayak - 4 sessionsTaught at the Kinsmen pool, students learn or augment their bracing and rolling skills with a progressive series of small steps moving toward learning and refining the kayak roll. Must have basic paddling skills.
Cost $ 89, four weeks ( 8hrs )

Sea kayak self and assisted rescueTaught in the pool and classroom, students learn to reenter a sea kayak after capsizing by a variety of techniques.
Cost $ 79 - A discount of $ 20 applies if you supply your own equipment
Time: 7 pm till 10 pm

Moving Water Instruction (1 day)Basic kayaking skills are a prerequisite for this fun filled day on the river.
You will take all the skills you learned in your basic course and ad the challenge of moving water.
And to finish off the day we will have a chilli and bun lunch. All this plus equipment use for the day for the low cost of $79 for 5 hours on the Pembina River.
Travel plans and times to be discussed before hand.
A discount of $ 20 is applicable if you supply your own equipment.

Open Water Sea Kayak Trip(1 day)Five fun filled hours on the scenic Lake Wabamun, under the eye of qualified sea kayak instructors.
To finish off the day we will have a chilli and bun lunch.
Bring own lunch for in boat.
All this plus equipment use for the day for the low cost of $79 for 5 hours on the lake Wabamun. Time and location to be discussed before hand.

Intro to Canoe PoloRegistrants should have basic introductory kayak skills, and be prepared to learn the rules, paddling, and ball skills to play the game of Canoe Polo.
An EWP membership is required, plus a $ 25 boat repair fee will apply.
Sessions will be held at the Rundle Park's Canoe Polo pond every Thursday night at 7 pm.

GENERAL COURSE INFO + Costs include paddling equipment (boat, paddle, skirt helmet & pfd)

+ EWP Membership is Annual (membership year Jan 1 - Dec 31) and required for ALL EWP Programs and is therefore INCLUDED in the course cost.
*Annual Membership charges: $20 if < 18 yrs; $30 for adult & is $65 for a Family (mother, father and two kids - additional kids add $15 per.)
Mermbership, payable once per year, is required for the participation in EWP activities.
